At New Meghdoot Vidhya Vihar the house system is being followed for planning and
execution of various co-curricular activities for the total personality development
of the children and for creating suitable ambience for enhancement of their creative,
artistic and linguistic talents. Students who participate in these structured activities
have higher academic achievement and higher levels of commitment. These activities
widen a child's world and allow him to go into something in depth and gain self
confidence. They help children develop their leadership qualities and organizing
skills. Every child has some potential and we help him/her discover it through different
activities. Inter-house and inter-class competitions are held periodically through
out the year to bring out the very best in each child.

Sports

We fully endorse the maxim, 'a sound mind in a sound body' and work towards achieving
the balance between activation of the mind and the body with zeal. Physical Education
for all classes V to XII are part of the curriculum. Exemption from attending, P.Ed
may be granted on medical grounds on request from parents of the concerned wards.

Senior and middle school girls are taught to play outdoor games like basketball,
volleyball, and throw ball besides indoor games like badminton, tennis and table
tennis. The boys are encouraged to play soccer, badminton, tennis, table tennis,
cricket, volleyball and basketball. Regular Inter House and Inter School Athletic
Meets (for the girls and the boys) are highlights of the school calendar.

Dance & Drama in Talent Programme

Dance and Drama are a tangible medium to express life in all its facets-literary,
social, political and historical and every attempt is made to integrate it into
mainstream education. They translate and transform events, ideas and stores into
expressions that stay with the viewer and the participants.

The Dance and Drama culture at The Indian School finds regular expression in ballets,
plays, improvisation, performances in hobby classes and skits presented during the
school assembly. The creative endeavors of the students culminate in the Annual
Day function where as many as 700 children participate in a Dance Drama with a social
theme. We have an excellent indoor auditorium and provisions for an amphitheatre
to do justice to their efforts.

We have two well equipped Computer labs for Senior and Junior wings spread over
an area of nearly 1000 sq. feet, with 40 fully updated computers. Broadband and
BSNL Internet connection is available through network. The audio -visual room with
its resource facilities has a full sized projection screen to be used for presentation
by children, teachers and guest speakers which aid in making the learning experience
multi dimensional. Computer Science is an integral part of the Academic Curriculum
and is compulsory for students from Class I onwards. NIIT Computer Aided learning
syllabus is integrated with the CBSE curriculum. All the teachers are trained to
use computers through workshops conducted by NIIT and teachers are able to research,
prepare worksheets, lesson plans and question papers. Students are also encouraged
to conduct research and create projects through this facility.
